Programme Overview

AirLab Subang conducts EASA Part-66 Basic Training and Examination in partnership with Flyon Aero, Italy (EASA Approval No: IT.147.0016). AirLab is also an accredited centre under the Department of Skills Development, Malaysia (JPK) (Ref No: PD 6188) and Human Resource Development Corporation, Malaysia (HRDC). The Integrated Skilled Worker Programme is an approximately 17-month course combining 1 year of theoretical training and EASA Part-66 examination in Malaysia, followed by 5 months of practical training and practical assessment at Flyon Aero in Italy — qualifying graduates as EASA-recognized skilled workers eligible to apply for the Aircraft Maintenance License (AML) for categories B1.1, B1.3, and B2.

Theoretical training in Malaysia

One full year of instructor-led Part-66 module training in Malaysia, covering all modules applicable to AML Cat. B1.1, B1.3, and B2, with EASA-approved exam sessions. Inclusive of a mandatory Foundation Programme for foreign nationals.

Practical training in Italy

Practical training in Italy

5 months of hangar practical training at Flyon Aero's facility in Tortona, Italy, with qualified instructors — approved by ENAC as acceptable skilled worker training.

Faster AML eligibility

Faster AML eligibility

Skilled worker status reduces the basic experience requirement for AML B1.1, B1.3, and B2 from 5 years down to 3 years of practical maintenance experience.

Aircraft Maintenance Technician Training Program

Aircraft Maintenance Technician Training Program: This aircraft maintenance technician programme is delivered using innovative and hands-on learning techniques. Upon completion, the candidates will be offered a guaranteed job placement with an approved MRO in Malaysia.

Selection

Registration includes pre-screening and an interview by ALS, followed by an interview session with the employing MRO, an HR briefing, and documentation.

Training

The 7-month training at ALS's facility includes theory, practical components, accommodation, and a monthly training allowance.

On-the-job Training

The on-the-job training includes a monthly allowance, with accommodation provided or an accommodation allowance given.

Employment

The job placement at the employing MRO offers a salary, yearly increments, as well as company and performance bonuses.

Programme Details

  6. Eligible for AML Cat. B1.1, B1.3, and B2 upon meeting experience requirements

  2. Able to speak, write, read and understand English
  3. Not colour blind; physically and mentally fit
  4. SPM / O-Level or equivalent accepted

  4. Practical assessment and skilled worker certification in Italy
  5. Accumulate 3 years of practical maintenance experience
